HARRY KNOWS QUINTET: Music (1990-1993).
Steve Stewart & Weba Garretson
In 1990, Steve Stewart and I were commissioned to
write "Humans Making Love As Gods," a radio show called
the "Territory of Art" and
produced by Julie Lazar for the Museum of Contemporary
Art, Los Angeles, CA.
Steve and I were already composing songs that combined spoken narrative
with singing. It was natural expand these songs into a radio drama,
albeit a surrealistic one. This story is inspired by the director
Ray Harryhausen and his interpretation of the Greek
Gods as superficial and narcissistic
and my own experience with cultism and new ageism in Los Angeles.
Created by Weba Garretson, Steve Stewart
and Mark Wheaton. Performed by Weba Garretson,
Irene
Cagen Forrest, Martin Kersels, Dan
O'Connor, Tina Preston and John
Fleck. |
