In 1989 Weba and I became involved with the performance collective SHRIMPS, formed by Pamela Casey and Steven Nagler. SHRIMPS had performed many times at LACE Gallery and had created many acclaimed perfomance pieces before we became involved. The first piece we created with the SHRIMPS was a piece called LOOKS. Weba's musical collaborator Steve Stewart began working with me on creating the music for LOOKS. LOOKS was presented at the Intermedia Arts Center in Minnesota and then was awarded an InterArts Grant from the NEA in 1990. The piece was presented at Alice Tully Hall in New York for the 1990 Serious Fun Festival. Weba, Steve and Mark continued to collaborate with the SHRIMPS for several more pieces including STUMP, STUN, TONGUE, Swell, Screech and LIX
We have collaborated with SHRIMPS in one form or another to the present day.
